Juliet Post: One renewable energy source, science homework help

Reply to post in 150 words or more.

One renewable energy source that has become more accessible to us is solar power for our homes.  Most people spend a lot of time at home and to switch to a solar power system would not only save the customer money, but it would also help produce energy for the power grid.  Many states offer programs that assist consumers in getting low cost solar panels for their home.  Another advantage to have solar power on your home is that you can get a tax write off because of your solar power contribution. The last benefit is that the consumer’s home value will also increase because of the solar panels.  I have had had solar panels on my home for the last 2 years and it has been a great experience for my family and the maintenance is very low.  If the world were to run out of oil if your home had solar panels you would still be able to somewhat maintain a decent lifestyle.
The second renewable energy source is geothermal energy.  Since it basically heats from the earth this source is something that should be around for a while.  Geothermal energies direct use causes no environmental concerns because the water isn’t toxic.  There are 3 types of plants that produce geothermal power which are dry steam, flash steam, and binary cycle (Turk, J., & Bensel, T. 2014).  There is only one dry steam power plant in the United States.  This could be a problem if we can’t duplicate or find another Geyser and the world ended because if we over used it I’m afraid it might dry up.  The flash steam and binary steam are most likely the most reliable sources to date for this method.

Use the practice problem and a qualitative, peer-reviewed research article you identified, writing homework help

Quick Biology

The Skeletomuscular System
The skeletomuscular system allows us to move through the environment using different modes including walking, running, eating, typing on a computer, and even driving a car. But sometimes accidents happen, like a slip on the ice resulting in a broken wrist, or a long run leading to achy joints.
Respond to the two topics below for this unit’s Discussion.

Many of us know someone who has broken (or fractured) a bone, whether it is a wrist, ankle, or hip.

What are the different types of bone fractures?
How does bone remodel itself?
What are the different ways a doctor may treat a fractured bone?
Have you or someone you know had a fracture? How was it treated? What was the outcome?

John is training for a marathon and recently he has been experiencing knee pain. He subsequently went to the doctor for a diagnosis.

What are the possible diagnoses for his knee pain?
What is the structure and function of the synovial joint of the knee?
What is knee synovitis?
What might the doctor recommend to John to treat his symptoms?
What are some holistic approaches to treating his symptoms?
This does not have to be a paper, but instead respond to each question with a paragraph. Also, please provide APA styled references.

Create a Training Module Customer Service Training.

Create a Training Module Customer Service Training:
Assume you have surveyed patients about each aspect of their office visit. You have analyzed the results and you notice that a majority of the patients are not satisfied that they simply receive a generic sheet of information pertaining to their condition instead of someone from the staff taking time to explain the important aspects of the patient’s condition and a customized plan for reducing risk factors.
Pick one condition – your choice – and create a training module for staff on educating patients who have that condition. The training module should contain some general information a patient needs to know about that condition and what the patient should do to minimize the effect of that condition. Then, give the staff member an idea of questions he or she can ask each patient so that the staff member can customize the patient education to meet that patient’s needs. For example, if a low-fat, high protein diet is recommended, ask the patient about their current eating habits including family members who either cook the meals or don’t have health reasons to worry about diet. Then get the patient to suggest things he or she might do that will reduce their fat intake without making it hard to eat with the rest of the family when they are eating fattening foods. You can use diet, exercise, rest, smoking cessation etc.
Once you’ve written a training session, please submit it as a Word document or a PDF and submit it through this Dropbox.

BHA320 TUI Health Care Operations Management and Quality Research Paper

From the library access the following text: Healthcare Operations Management (Authors: Daniel B. McLaughlin & Julie M Hays). Review Chapter 1: The Challenge and the Opportunity (Introduction to Healthcare Operations).
Then, review common hospital operations problems at http://www.beckershospitalreview.com/hospital-management-administration/5-common-hospital-problems-and-suggestions-for-how-to-fix-them.html.
Select two of the problems identified in the above article and develop a 2- to 3-page paper assessing the reasons for the problems and possible solutions (recommended solutions should include a brief plan of action). In your paper, identity which of the ten action steps recommended by Institute of Medicine (IOM) to close the quality chasm is applicable to each selected problem. The ten action steps can be found on pages 6 and 7 of the text or at the following link: http://www.nationalacademies.org/hmd/~/media/Files/Report%20Files/2001/Crossing-the-Quality-Chasm/Quality%20Chasm%202001%20%20report%20brief.pdf

Investigate Strengths and Weaknesses of Local Managed Care Systems

There are different types of managed care plans. Two of the most common types are Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs). Most others are hybrids of the two. The basic functions of governance and control in HMOs, PPOs, and other managed care plans are similar to those in any business except the responsibilities vary greatly from one plan to another.
Managed care programs use several functions to control costs: use of a provider network with discounts, prior approval of procedures, utilization management of treatment guidelines, utilization review, case management, peer review and second opinions, prospective, concurrent, and retrospective audits, and grievance procedures.
Week 2 Assignment: Investigate Strengths and Weaknesses of Local Managed Care Systems

Activity Description
Managed health care is available throughout the United States, either through private or public supported systems.
Begin this assignment by investigating your local managed care systems. You may visit them directly or thoroughly research them.
Then, reflect upon this experience in a paper. Include the following in your report:

Provide an overview of objectives of the task and reflect on your experiences.
Analyze the managed care systems, including strengths and weaknesses.
Based on your experiences, provide recommendations and insights for future application.

Support your paper with a minimum of five scholarly sources within the last five (5) years APA format. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

Appalachian College of Pharmacy Peripheral Cycloxygenase Inhibition Paper

Formulate a original response and then respond back to a classmate regarding this topic
Question: We generally consider acetaminophen to be “Safe” in most conditions (other than overdoses), and it dose not cause peripheral cycloxygenase inhibition – so thought to be an option for analgesia in asthma patients. There is a recent correlation of acetaminophen exposure and asthma. This got a significant amount of media attention and you will most likely receive questions
Come up with an original response to this topic using resources like pubmed to back up your claims. Site any sources used. Then respond back to this response by my classmate.

classmate response:
I think everyone has really hit it on the head, that the vast majority of these studies either show no difference between ibuprofen and acetaminophen in asthma development or exacerbations, or that there are too many confounders to allow for accurate results. The confounding variable that to me sticks out and negates really any of these studies is the fact that acetaminophen is typically the medication used for mild fever in children. Fever in children is commonly caused by mild viral infection, which when you consider that in itself is a common asthma trigger, it automatically is going to confound any results that come thereafter. So in my mind, what any positive results are showing is that parents rightfully give their children acetaminophen in the case of fever, but the viral infection has triggered existing yet unknown asthma. I suppose this leaves out those who gave their children acetaminophen for analgesia, but there are still so many confounders to account for that obtaining accurate results is difficult.
The only way to truly determine a relationship would be a large randomized controlled trial in which children with no previous history of asthma are exposed to acetaminophen and then followed for months/years to determine if there’s any difference between placebo group and treatment group.
